Hold the plate behind your neck with both hands
Flex your waist AND twist to one direction simultaneously as you rise
Return until your shoulders contact the floor
Alternate sides each rep for balanced oblique development
Instructions
Step-by-step technique
Place your feet under a low stationary object and lie on a mat with your hips and knees bent.
Hold a weight plate behind your neck with both hands.
Engage your core and brace your lower back against the mat.
Flex your waist and twist your torso to one side while raising it off the mat by bending your hips.
Continue until your torso is upright and rotated.
Return your torso back down until the back of your shoulders contacts the mat.
Twist to the opposite side on the next rep.
Continue alternating sides for the desired number of reps.
