Stand with feet together and hands just in front of your thighs
Lift one foot slightly off the floor before beginning
Hinge forward at the hip, keeping your back straight throughout
Keep the knee of your supporting leg slightly bent
Maintain the hip and knee of the raised leg fully extended — leg in line with torso
Instructions
Step-by-step technique
Stand with your feet together and your hands just in front of your thighs.
Lift one foot slightly off the floor so it is just hovering above the ground.
Hinge forward at the hip, lowering your torso toward the floor while simultaneously raising the lifted leg back behind you.
Keep your back straight throughout — no rounding.
Keep a slight bend in the knee of your supporting leg for stability.
Maintain your hip and knee of the elevated leg fully extended — leg in line with your torso.
Lower until you feel a stretch in the hamstring of your supporting leg.
Drive through your heel to return to standing and repeat.
